 About
 NOCCC

North Orange County Computer Club (NOCCC) is a small size group with many members oriented primarily to supporting users of IBM PC compatible computers and newer mobile devices. A wide range of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) meet the first or second Sunday of each month from 9:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. as posted in Orange Bytes. The Main Meeting is from 1:00 PM till ~3:00 PM at Chapman University in the city of Orange, CA. USA.

NOCCC was founded in 1976 and is the second oldest continuously operating computer club in the USA. We support a broad range of applications and special interest groups.

Benefits of Membership

  • Main Meetings - Keep up with what's going on in the computer world. Hear outstanding industry representatives make presentations of the latest and greatest in computer products. Special Interest Groups - Our SIGs cover a broad spectrum of user interest; they invite you, whether you rank as beginner or seasoned expert, to take in the lectures and demonstrations they sponsor, and to share computer knowledge.

Get Help with your current Computer Problems - In the Random Access portions of the meetings you ask your question of the entire assemblage, and more than likely someone will have the answer.

The NOCCC Help Line - NOCCC volunteers, experts in their fields, stand ready to assist with your problems, as close as your telephone. This is published in the Orange Bytes print edition and is available primarily to members only.

The Orange Bytes - Our large news magazine reports on current activities and gives you articles and reviews geared toward your needs.

Raffles - Each year we distribute hardware, software, and computer related books as raffle prizes at our general meetings in the afternoon.

Product Review - Write a review for the news magazine and keep the software, hardware, book, or Cd-ROM. For a list of products see the latest Orange Bytes News magazine. Read about what other reviewers have discovered.

SIGs - Our Special Interest Groups range from operating systems to smart phones. Please see the Home Page for leaders and reports.

  • Consignment Table - We have a consignment table on alternate, even months, in which we assist members to sell or buy all kinds of computer items. Use our
handy on-line form (<-click) to prepare your paperwork in advance. You may also bring electronic waste hardware (e-waste) for disposal on these even months.
  • Volunteer Work - You are given opportunities to help our activities with interesting assignments. As an all-volunteer organization, you can join with other members in a variety of activities, from the writing of articles for our news magazine to conducting a seminar, and more. Openings exist for SIG leaders. Contact President Dr. Pat (714-628-9844) if interested.
  • Comments about the Club - If you have comments, suggestions, or constructive criticism, hold that thought. Due to inappropriate use of the suggestion box, it is being deactivated until we devise a suitable filter. To communicate your thoughts, send an email to one of the Officers shown in the Officers Table on the Home Page.
You may attend a meeting without joining NOCCC. Dues are $35.00/year. Members are entitled to the many benefits listed above.
For added information regarding coming meetings see the calendar on our Home Page.
